Ronaldo - O Fenomeno

Daniele Tognaccini returned from Rio de Janeiro where he was working with Ronaldo in preparation for preseason training.

His impressions of the Brazilian were positive:

“For Ronie it was not necessary to start with slow running. He was already ready to work hard. I noticed particularly his high quality when he’s speeding. Because of this speed it is difficult to keep the body in equilibrium. Ronaldo’s explosive power in the first few meters is frightening. He is happy and determined.”

Ronaldo talked to the Gazzetta Dello Sport about Real’s offer to Kaka and his close friendship with Adriano. He also declares that he is on his way to becoming number one again, with the help of Milan’s exceptional team.

“Ricky does not need any suggestions: he knows well enough that he is in the great club in the world and that Milan gave him everything. In New York, I dined with him, we did not gon into detail about the Real Madrid offers, but he told me that he will be loyal to Milan. He’s calm and even I am: I don’t think that he will change. I started following Pato last year during the World Club Cup against Barcelona, he’s still very young, but he does amazing tricks and has great potential: he will have an incredible career. The atmosphere at Milanello would do well to Adriano, there everyone help each other and collaborate. I often talk with Adriano, we’re good friends. I know that he has problems, but I cannot discuss them publicly. If he decides to come to Milan, he will surely be welcome. I admired Inzaghi, but never envied him. Even he suffered a lot in the past and he was able to return to high levels. Just like I am trying to do. And then the triumph in Athens was not only of Inzaghi, but of the entire group which was exceptional. It would be nice to arrive to the Moscow Final, but I only do a step at a time. Now he will start laughing, but today my objective is that of making the best summer training camp of my life. Only this way I will return to be the world’s number one. Now I will give my best to my club. Milan has given me back the happiness and maybe they cannot even understand the good that this did to me. I don’t forget this.

Ronaldo reiterates his respect and appreciation for the club and has vowed to score as many goals as he can as payback.

I’m in a unique moment of my career. I owe everything to the club, it was a great bet which went well, both theirs and mine, and I want to be ready for the training camp. It will be the best one of my career. I never had 50 straight days of holidays since I’ve been playing football. Milan already has the strongest attack in the world, already this way. The atmosphere at Milan is fantastic, I never found myself so well. The arrival of Tognaccini here in Rio was an offer which I accepted straight away, not an imposition. It’s too early to talk about the contract’s renewal. I can only repay Milan with many goals and wins. I repeat: it was a bet which we all won together.
