Ronaldo leaves hospital in Paris

Ronaldo was release from Hospital today but has yet to confirm if he will continue to play football. Ronaldo has a lengthy recovery ahead of him and will focus on physiotherapy to strengthen his knee.

In a press conference, Ronaldo revealed his desire to return to the game but at the same time he does not expect anything. He will wait to see how his body reacts in the coming months and then make his decision. He knows it will be a very tough time but he thanks his team, fans and everyone else for their support.

“Everything is still very recent, it just happened and no one expected this incident. It was a very tough blow, very tough mentally. I cannot still believe that it really happened.” One of the first questions was directed towards his future and his return to the football world. “For the return I must still think. I still don’t know if I will continue to play. Now I only think about recovering in the best possible way. I know that it will be very tough again, but I hope to succeed.”

“I don’t know exactly how long this rehabilitation period will last, but surely it will be take less time than the previous one, that of eight years ago. I will do my best to win this battle against my physique.” Ronaldo does not have a high morale, but despite this he has not lost the lucidity not even when some questions were more dangerous than others, like when they asked him if he thinks that if something specific has caused the injury: “I don’t think about the causes. It happened and that’s it. I have many other things to think about now. I don’t know what to say about Milan, my contract expires in June. Milan is a home for me, I have a family there that waits for me. What annoys me is how it went…Right now it’s difficult to talk about a contract.”

“I thank all of my team-mates who were close to me, who have suffered with me, who sent me many messages. I also thank the President and the entire club. The people who, even though I don’t know them, made me understand that around me there is a lot of affection. I also thank my family. In these moments I can only say thanks, because without this type of support I don’t know if I would have managed.”

Ronaldo will remain in Paris for another two weeks and then he will return to Milan.

Ronaldo in Brazil

Flamengo brought out a banner which read “Ronaldo: a phenomenon of determination. Flamengo believes in you,” when they took the field for the big local derby against Vasco da Gama on Sunday.

Ronaldo is a big Flamengo fan and has always expressed his desire to play for the team before the end of his career. However, it is difficult for Ronaldo as he has yet to win the Champions League in Europe. If he did this with Milan last season, it would have been an easy choice for Ronaldo to return to Brazil especially with his current injury.

Ronlao has always been at the top of the game. He has scored more World Cup goals then anyone in history and has received more awards and trophys that would make it an easy choice for any player to say enough is enough.

However, Ronaldo is not a person that gives up so easily. He returned from a career threatening injury in 2002 and lead brazil to World Cup triumph, that year he was also awarded Fifa Player of the Year for the third time. If Ronaldo does return I don’t see him returning to Brazil.
