Ronaldo - O Fenômeno

Pele and Ronaldo are not the best of friend and have a history of hostility towards eachother. The last time these two had a go at eachother was when Pele criticised Ronaldo for being more interested in his love life and personal problems then he was with football. Ronaldo responded with an attack on Pele’s son saying that Pele should be worried about his own problems and not about others.

This time round, Pele made a comment about Ronaldo’s comeback to football in an interview in Brazil.

“I don’t think Ronaldo will be able to be the player he once was,” Pele said.

“Medicine has made huge progress, but he’s also a few years older now. I would be very happy if he would be able to come back at 100%, but I’m afraid it won’t go that way.”

However, Ronaldo is not too worried about Pele’s comments.

“He said that I will not come back to play? I am happy that he said this,” Ronaldo told Radio Globo.

“It is well known that whatever Pele forecasts, the exact opposite comes true.

“However I don’t want to make too much of this. Pele is a legend and finds himself in difficult situations, having to answer questions of all kinds.”

Pele has attacked alot of football icons and even had a go at former Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari during the build up to the 2002 World Cup where Brazil won.

“I believe that Pele knows nothing about football,” Scolari famously said.

“He has done nothing as a coach and all his analysis always turn out to be wrong.

“If you want to win a title, you have to listen to Pele and then do the opposite.”

Alexandre Pato has become the future of Milan and he has already scored some sensational goals this season. The young Brazilian joined AC Milan last year but was not able to play until his 18th birthday in January of this year.

He scored on his debut the same day Ronaldo scored twice. It was a dissapointment for all Milan fans as we all wanted to see KA-PA-RO for much longer but it only lasted for two matches.

Pato chose AC Milan as a club to join because he knew it was a big club and it had a lot of Brazilians which made him feel welcome.

“The Brazilian players of Milan are great examples for me, from Ronaldo to Emerson, from Dida to Cafu, from Kaka to Serginho: they have won a lot, with Milan and with the national team, and I admire them a lot,” said Pato.

“I did not have many doubts, I spoke with my dad, with the persons who are close to me, and I chose Milan because it is a great team, a serious club. Everyone told me that I would not find a better place, and then there are many Brazilians. For me, Milan is a family and a home. There are many people who give me serenity and tranquillity.”

When pato was asked who he thought was the best player ever, his response was Ronaldo and that is no surprise.

Gattuso said this on the Clubs Official Website after seeing Ronaldo watch yesterdays training session on the bench.

“He changed his look, now he has the goatie, but I must say that it hurts to see a great champion sitting on the bench looking at the training session, because Ronaldo is football. Following the injury he has no been Ronaldo, but he played at 40% and did extraordinary things. In these years I understood why they call him ‘Fenomeno’. If he was just like that at 40%, think how he would be at 100%.”
