There has been much talk about Ronaldo’s progress back to fitness and this again has been reconfirmed by his Physio Bruno Mazziotti. Ronaldo can nearly fully move his knee which will allow him to start pushing weights. This is very important for Ronaldo as this allows him to strengthen the knee and leg which has not had much work at all since he was injured in Feb.

Ronaldo is still in Rio and hopes to return to football before the end of the year. At this rate it looks promising but Ronaldo does not want to rush into anything until he is able to kick a football and run on the pitch without any pain.

Ronaldo could be back before November it was revealed today by his physiotherapist. His recovery is so far ahead of schedule that it has surprised everyone including himself. However, Ronaldo has remained humble and does not want to make any plans yet.

His workrate on the bench has been incredible.

“The daily work is divided into two phases,” explained Bruno Mazziotti.

“In the morning he goes to the clinic for physiotherapy, and in the afternoon he is at home. He has seven days a week without rest.”

At this rate his lesions should heal in two months and after that he will begin running and cycling.

The other good news is that his speedy recovery has kept Ronaldo in high spirit which is very important at his age if he wants to return to World Class football.

Ronaldo to Flamengo a dream

Ronaldo has always dreamed of playing for Flamengo. Ronaldo last week revealed that he would like to play for Flamengo before returning to Milan. This sounds like an easy thing to organise but it reality is isn’t.

“I dream about playing for Flamengo, but it will be a difficult dream to achieve,” stated Ronaldo.

Braga confirmed he intends to meet the player’s agent Fabiano Farah.

“I will sit down with his agent this week. Ronaldo does not need to prove anything,” Braga said.

Ronaldo is currently in Brazil continuing his recovery from injury. He has been in regular contact with Flamengo and Brazil’s team doctor Jose Luiz Runco.

“He has talked to Dr Runco almost every day. However, we will be able to think about playing only in 2009,” stated Braga.

This reconfirms that we will not see Ronaldo on the pitch till next year.
