Ronaldo is a big name says Adriano

Adriano has earned an international recall after a successful loan spell in Brazil from Inter Milan and the 26-year-old believes that his 2006 World Cup teammate will also recover from his own recent troubles.

Ronaldo, who is recovering from a knee injury, recently found himself in the headlines after it was reported that police in Rio de Janeiro were investigating an accusation that a transvestite attempted to extort money from the AC Milan player after he mistakenly picked up three transvestites at a nightclub.

“We always had a good relationship and while I think that what Ronaldo did was not right, I am never going to give up our friendship for that,” said Adriano to globoesporte.com.

“He is Ronaldo and he is a big name. If that had happened to another person, nobody would talk about it.

“These are lessons to learn from this incident. I also went through some difficulties and I know how he must feel,” Adriano added.

Ronaldo wants to stay with Milan

Ronaldo wants to stay with Milan

Only at the start of the week Ronaldo stated his desire to play for Flamengo but now the Brazilian striker has now decided to stay with Milan.

“They’re one of the best clubs in the world, but my only priority now is to return to playing,” he declared.

“A player must earn a team like Milan, your past does not matter. If I can have the certainty of 100 per cent recovery, I will return to Milan.”

Thats good news for all of us as I would prefer him with Milan than with Flamengo.

Ronaldo also spoke about Kaka

“I think Robinho is appreciated by all the teams in the world, I do not understand why he should not be by Madrid,” said Ronaldo.

Would Cristiano Ronaldo do well in white? I cannot say because I am far away from Madrid.

“Kakà is the best player in the world though. He is a great person both on-and-off the field.”

Ronaldo tells about the night of the transvestites

Ronaldo hit the headlines a few weeks ago when it was reported that he had had an encounter with three transvestites in a motel in Rio de Janeiro.

A lot has been reported in the press since, and Ronaldo has now moved to clear up, in detail, exactly what happened.

“What happened with the transvestites was the worst thing that has ever happened to me,” he told Spanish newspaper AS.

“It was my mistake and I think about it every day. It caused me a lot of personal pain, but it hasn’t changed my desire to play again.

“The true story is that I went to dinner with some friends. We left the restaurant at 4.30am and I did something stupid.

“I’d had an argument with my girlfriend and I was sad, so I was thinking lots. A girl came up to my car and I accepted her services.

“We went to a motel and she called some friends. When they arrived I realised that they weren’t women, but men, transvestites. And then I told them that I had changed my mind.

“I didn’t want to go any further because they weren’t women and they demanded £24,000 or else they would go to the Press. “But they asked me for more money. I started to negotiate with them because I didn’t want any trouble.

“So they went to the police station and made up lies about me to profit from the situation because I am famous.

“I don’t normally go to prostitutes and I want people to know that. I have always had a girlfriend and I don’t need that kind of service.

“I am heterosexual. I have no problem with homosexuals, but I like women. I have never taken drugs – I am a sportsman.

“My girlfriend didn’t take it well. She was very angry with me and we argued, but afterwards she gave her support.

“It has been a tough thing for me and also for her. I think that she is also pregnant, but we will wait for the first few months to see if everything goes well.

“I understand that some people may have lost a little respect for me, but I have done a lot for football, for sport and for my country.

“We all make mistakes and I have learned a lot from this experience. I did something stupid and I regret it more each day, but when I return to the pitch and score again everyone will forget it,” he concluded.

Ronaldo is currently recovering from a severed tendon in his knee, and latest reports suggest he could be back in action as early as September.
