Former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who faces the prospects of his assets in Thailand being seized, has reportedly agreed to sell his stake in City to Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment just a year after buying the club.

The deal was completed late last night with the owner publicly announcing that he wants to make Manchester City the biggest club in the Premier League in a ver short time. He is willing to pump as much money into the club to make it bigger then Chelsea.

He has wasted little time with a bid of over £30 million to lure Berbatov to City. Mark Hughes has confirmed that he will be meeting with Berbatov today as the striker was in Manchester to meet with United.

If Manchester City do seal the deal with Berbatov then it is highly unlikely that they will sign Ronaldo. Although, it does not seem positive for City as Berbatov has made it clear that he wants to play in the Champions League and City are not there yet.

Money is not always the reason for moving to a team as Manchester City may well know after unsuccessfully signing Ronaldinho to AC Milan.
