After the charity match in Morocco Ronaldo was bombarded by the media as everyone wanted to know what was next for big Ronnie. However, no one expected him to mention the word retire after revealing a month ago that he would like to continue his professional career on the pitch.
“I don’t know if I will continue to play or if I will retire,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I have not taken a decision yet. I am in no hurry to make a decision. I want to complete my recovery.”
“I could decide tomorrow or in a month’s time what to do, but I still don’t know,” he said.
“It was beautiful to return to play because football is my life but it was just an exhibition as I only played for 22 minutes. Professional football is a different issue.”
AC Milan’s technical director Leonardo told BBC Sport that Ronaldo would “go down in football history as one of the world’s greatest-ever players”.
The Brazilian said he had been in regular contact with his compatriot since he left Milan in June.
“We are very good friends and Milan also still have a very good relationship with Ronaldo,” Leonardo added.
“At the moment, he is deciding everything. He has to complete the treatment and get fit – then he can make a decision.”
Does this mean the possibility that Ronaldo may join Milan if he is fit and decides to continue playing. Could you imagine a line-up which would include Kaka, Ronaldinho and Beckham. It would almost be as close as the Galatico era at Real Madrid.

STILL remember whe Galacticos era.. it was the time that he was pressed by Madrid, to score more goals. Coz Madrid defence was worst…terrible..
yes he hasnt anything to be reached to confirm that he is the best ever…
he lost about 6 years in his career strugles with his injury.. 99-02..and 2006 till 2008 are lost years,,..if he fit like Del piero, or maldini…he will be the best than Pele…
but actually he is twice best than Pele….
Retire can not be an option! he said a few months ago he wouldn’t let injury end his career.
I think the best option for him when he is back to full fitness, is to go to Manchester United! Henrik Larsson had a wonderful 3 months and became a loan legend. Ronaldo will become a leged wherever he goes.
He said about 10 years ago he wanted to play in the PL, and what better team is there?
Milan would be a fantastic option and of all the top clubs in the world it is probably the mst likely.
Manchester United is the best possible option I think, and if he did go there and get goals he would be straight back in the Brazil squad like he deserves to be!
The worlds greatest player will not be stopped by injury!
COME ON RONALDO!!!!!!! come on Sir Alex, please pick him up as you are the only one I know who can do it!!!
Ronaldo was out of the game for 9 months, and in that time he became fat again.
He needs to just concenrate on running and becoming light on his feet. He has the skills, he’ll never lose that. He just needs to become slim and agile again.
I would rather see Ronaldo retire then see him play for a second grade team. Worst I rather see him retire if he is not going to be at his best as thats what people will remember him for. If he ends it now people will remember the fenomeno. He is the greatest ever player in my books and in the time that I started watching football, People can say Pele but I wasn’t around then so Ronaldo is the one. Like Leonardo said, he will go down in history as one of the best players ever!!
GO R0NNIE!!!
he should not retire…..
u know why….
because he is the phenomenon…
u would never expect what he will give or do…….
that’s why any player would fear if they face Ronaldo on the field….
he become fat because he can’t exercise or running during his rehabilation to become fit again…
if he didn’t eat how would survive…..
I know he try his best to be fit again….
but all decision is in his hand….
Go Phenomenon…..R9 forever…
