Ronaldo will have surgery on his hand
It has been confirmed today that Ronaldo will undergo surgery on his hand after fracturing it in the game against Palmeiras.
The surgery should happen before the weekend but doctors are waiting for the swelling to go down before they can operate on his hand.
“Sure, it will be operated. We are just waiting to fall in swelling to perform surgery. It should happen before the weekend,” said the doctor by telephone to GLOBOESPORTE
After the surgery Ronaldo will be able to return to training in a week but will not be able to train with the rest of the group until four to five weeks.
Ronaldo out for four to five weeks with fractured hand
A fracture has been found in Ronaldo’s left hand and he will likely be out for four to five weeks. Further test will be done on Wednesday, to see if an operation is necessary and if further treatment is needed.
‘We did tests and found what was thought during the game: a fracture in the third and fourth metacarpus of the left hand. It is the extension of the bone. The time is four to five weeks away,’ revealed the doctor.
Due to the swelling in his hand, Ronaldo will be subject to an X-ray and CT on Wednesday to see if there is a need for surgery.
Ronaldo will still be able to train but will avoid anything too physcial to avoid the risk of any further damage.
This is a huge blow for the Corinthians as the game looked very one sided after the departure of Ronaldo.
Ronaldo injures himself against Palmeiras
Ronaldo injured himself at the 20th minute against Palmeiras after falling on this left arm. In the replay, it doesn’t look too bad but Ronaldo was substituted straight after and remained on the bench looking quite uncomfortable with the pain in his arm.
