Parreira believes Ronaldo should be back in the Selection

Ronaldo celebrates after scoring a hat-trick against Fluminense

The performance of Ronaldo last night against Fluminense was nearly the Ronaldo of old. He scored on three of his four chances and showed his speed, skills and strength. Last night may have been the first hat-trick for Ronaldo as a Corinthian but it is his 24th for his career.

Carlos Alberto Parreira who led Ronaldo in two World Cups in 1994 and 2006 believes that Ronaldo if in shape can be back in the Selection for the World Cup.

“The player Ronaldo has always been a priority. He had four chances and made three. It only depends on his fight for a spot at the World Cup. If he can get in shape and continue to act this way, the heat will be on Dunga’s head,” said Parreira.

Parreira also continued to say that his performance last night showed that he does not need to prove himself to be in the Selection.

“He is ready and that level of performance has to be called. Ronaldo no longer needs to be prepared and tested for the Selection, all he needs is to stay in shape, to be a candidate for vacancies in the World Cup,” concluded Parreira.

True words. He doesn´t need to prove anything. His fitness is the key.

dunga, is no mug, a unfit ronaldo is not as good as fabiano but ronaldo currently may be more of an asset and if he improves his condition further he should be certain to be called up. does anyone know when the next time brazil play? or when the next squad will be named?

To reconigze a kind of talent ROnaldo still has got, isn`t hard to see, it`s simply amazing so unbelivable to be true that he is back PHENOMENAL.

Pele was, Maradona was, Zidane was, RONALDO my Love is still here and showed one more time wat a fu***-genius-kind of legend he is and always was, since playing HIS GAME.

Ronaldo, I think, same as you we all your fans, the hole world – We are in extase and lucky. Justice is the key :-)

    peace

“If in shape”???Is Parreira kidding???Ronaldo scored a hattrick and gave an asset!!!!!!!!!!!!He IS in shape,if he can play better and score more than any of the younger and thinner player (what he certainly DOES)!!!!!!!!!!
To p2p:An unfit Ronaldo is not as good as Fabiano?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ronaldo with his injury history and his 32 years is capable to score a hattrick (in a tough game)!!!!!!When did this young Fabiano score a hattrick?Ronaldo in this form is very very very important for Brazil in the WC2010,much much much more important than Luis Fabiano!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our friend webmaster need learn more futebol history, the icon of next team matches is a blue circle with FBPA chars (‘foot-ball porto alegrense’), Gremio is world champion of 1981 defeacting hamburgo, the actual icon using is wrong and about ‘Marilia’, a smaller club than ‘Paulistao’ tournament.
The real ‘Gremio’ is this -> http://www.gremio.net look at.
There are many ‘Gremio’s in Brazil cause Gremio means ‘association’, because same reason there are a lot of Internacional(s) and America(s).
    Is need more attention on this updates;
And please, somebody updates ronaldo statistics page.

The truth is there for all to see, this man is a legend. He was destined to do what comes natural to him. Ronaldo is the best, the one and only true Ronaldo. Thank God he is with the Timao. There’s a saying here in our country: Sao Paolo is in Brazil, Corinthians is in the Bible…Tumelo from South Africa.

nameless, just shut up, carlos alberto and I were extremely complimentary towards ronaldo yet you still find ground to shout at them, and for the record, when i said unfit, you don’t know what my definition of unfit is, so you could not possibly comment or critisize what i said, for all you know an unfit ronaldo to me could be one who is on crouches, but for the record and as i said earlier, i would NOT consider ronaldo’s current state as unfit, ronaldo in march may not of been as good as fabiano because as well as score goals, fabiano is able to put pressure on defenders when they are in possession, i even said that in ronaldo’s current state he is BETTER. wow, there is no pleasing some people, all you seem to want to do is argue with people’s point of views whenever you comment, it’s pathetic, and it is clear that you don’t even understand what is being said, it is pretty obvious you didn’t understand what i said.

  15. Guppy on July 10th, 2009 11:48 am

fabiano is very good but still far from being a phenomenom. amazing he can score a hat trick in a crucial game and he is clearly not physically fit as fabiano rite now
