he looks even bigger then before he got injured (and had liposuction), ok he has hurt his hand but this could be his chance to lose weight, he should just get a personal trainer and work every single day at getting into shape, i am nearly giving up on the dream of seeing my hero play in South Africa, if he doesnt play i dont think i will be able to watch.

how can you tell if he looks slimmer from those pics bigdaddy? you can’t. i will reserve judgement until he is back on the pitch but i am not holding my breath for any kind of weight loss unfortunately, i hope i am wrong.
Some of you will remember but Petenaldo will never be greater video maker of Ronaldo than guy whos you tube account was maldini3fan , unfortunatly he doesnt exists anymore .

i agree with r9 r9, so much BS gets written in the comments section on this site varying from people trying to guess how fat or slim he is when he is sat on a bench with a shirt on, big lulz. And r9, you make it sound like petenaldo is royalty or god or something, get a grip, i am actually subscribed to him on youtube, his videos are good and he is clearly a big fan of ronaldo but your comment on him being a bigger fan of ronaldo than r9 r9 carries no weight as you have absolutely no idea how big a fan r9 r9 is. I rarely comment due to the fact that even the slightest of fair criticism towards ronaldo and you will be on the receiving end of a witch hunt.LOL

How I can tell who is the bigger fan? Well, who is taking his time to create all those videos? He´s getting no money or anything for that, so he must be driven by affection and the urge to share with other friends. And no, you won´t be hunted down when you criticise Ronaldo. After all we are here to discuss and not to argue, right?

you and i might be here to discuss but there are many others who will not tolerate anything remotely critical towards ronaldo thus making any decent discussion not possible. r9 r9 could also make videos, he may have bought a corinthians season ticket just to see ronaldo and flies from wherever he loves to brazil every week just to see ronaldo. It is impossible to say who is the bigger fan, that is besides the point to what he was saying though. i just think r9 r9 had had enough of the dumb comments, maybe silly comments bother him, but when people claim he looks SLIMMER judging from a photo where he is sat on a bench and is wearing a t-shirt is a silly thing to say.

Ronaldo isnt slimmer at all.
Just before he broke his hand, his face was starting to get less fat again. He was starting to look like the old ronaldo.
Now, hes clearly put all that weight back on due to being out of play…
I just dont think Ronaldo has the attitude to be a proffesional top class football player any more. He likes football, so he is probably happy to piss around in rubbish teams just to keep himself on the pitch.
Sure he’s suffered major injury and come back from them, but he’s allowing other players (CRONALDO) to delete his name from history books.
I would rather be retired and not playing football , that be fat whilst playing in a major league.
Something changed Ronaldo. I believe he’s only fat because of his mental lazyness, rather than anything else.

Yeah you probably got a point there. Anyway I agree with you. Many can´t take it if Ronaldo is criticised.
And on the weight debate: Ronaldo will NEVER return to his old weight again. I know it´s hard to believe,but it´s not possible for him in his age and with his attitude to regain that form again. Besides the injuries make every progress useless, because he can´t control himself and eats too much during that time of inactivity. We can be happy if he is in a well enough shape in time for the WC.

For ones who want to understand , I understand a little bit of portugese ( Im not going to explain how did I lear it or if Im tellling the truth ) . Meaning is , Mano Menezes was in a Brasilian Sports Tv Show month ago and he said that Ronaldos body will not change much, he maybe will loose 2-3 kgs more but that is it . He has almost 33 years of age.
MY OPINION :
If he stays injury free !!! , for his experience and still good enough to brake any defender and score as only he can , will go to WC. Dunga will have tough choice . I dont want anyone evil but if someone of todays players of Brasil attack do not get injured and saty in form , Ronaldo will have very little chance .
Fabiano Pato Robinho Adriano Kaka are probably 100% in .
We are getting little too fast because its only September of 2009 , long long way too go .
Normally the national-teams take 4 striker to a tournament.
There is a pool of six strikers: Robinho, Pato, Ronaldo, Adriano, Fabiano and Wagner Love.
I think, defenitly Dunga will call:
FABIANO – because of the ConfedCup and the fact he plays more like a europoean striker and not as a typical brasilien. I do not mean, that one way to play is basically better then the other: I just mean, that Fabiano therefore is different relating to the others 5 strikers.
PATO – because Brazil love their new “striker-kid”.
ROBINHO – because on the one hand he is a bit selfish but skillfull like a typical brazilien striker on the other hand, and so he would perfectly match to Fabiano, who plays more european-like in my eyes.
So there would be just one more place for a striker in the national-team and still Adriano, Ronaldo and Wagner Love in the pool…
Wagner-Love is the worst of them in my eyes.
And when Dunga would have the choice between a fit-Ronaldo and Adriano, I obviously think, he would take Ronaldo.
Even, when Ronaldo is on the field, every defence has got “fear”… he is a living legend, he could break his own goal-record.
And, when Dunga would take Adriano, the hole nation would “kill” him, if Brazil would have no success…
So I guess, Dunga would call Fabiano, Robinho, Pato and Ronaldo, if they would be fit.
=> But I am German and live in Germany (maybe the people in brazil have got a different opinion – the text above is just MY point of view.

Till Ronaldo gets fit enough for Selecao , Adriano and Wanger Love will be standard among 22 players ,so you be the man and say to them after they pass all qualification games that they will not go becuase Ronaldo will be called. It will be very hard choice for Dunga and who knows what Ronaldo thinks but as much as I ” love him ” it would be unfair towards others if Ronaldo gets call up and others to the hard work in qualifications.
Ronaldo needs to be lucky to avoid these stupid injuries becuase only them(injuries) will throw him back of a dream.
I think that if it wasnt for that hand injury he would be called up for next games , I think Brasil plays Argentina in this week or another.

at the moment i would say fabiano is a must, he has done well for his country, he works hard and closes down defenders all of the time and never allows them anytime, his goalscoring record is also very impressive. also, between now and the WC2010 it is likely that pato will improve and mature, i would also say he deserves a space. robinho is world class most of the time and can also play on the wing as he does for man city. kaka will obviously be in the team. this leaves nilmar, ronaldo, adriano and love. this will be a tough decision, i think it would be too risky to take adriano and ronaldo, i think dunga will only pick one of them unless they are both back to their best. Of course if ronaldo can shift some weight and can be in good form in early 2010 then that will change everything . One thing to remember is that dunga said that ronaldo would be picked if he could get into 2002 form, this worries me as no player can turn back the clock 8 years let alone a player who has had a huge injury just last year and became startlingly fat last summer, but since his return he has done well, better than most of us could have expected but he is still finding it hard to shift the last few kilo’s. according to those words by dunga this means he will not be going to the world cup, however, he could have said that in order to try and make ronaldo determined to reach that level again and he will accept ronaldo as long as he is in good form. because surely he cannot expect ronaldo to reach 2002 form again. at least a good discussion is happening now

Even at milan, when he WAS rolling back some of the years, he didnt get called up.
However, this is the World Cup.
Brazil without big names is a boring team to watch.
Even back in 2003/4 if Ronaldo or Ronaldinho etc wasnt playing the match, I wouldnt bother watching.

You underestimate the brazilian population. If the population wants something they get it. If they ask for Ronaldo to be called up then he will. Also the brazilian president is a fan of Corinthians. He met Ronaldo several times. Ring any bells? If Dunga does not oblige and call him up when he is urged to and Brazil dont win the world cup, he will be blamed to death for not picking Ronaldo and eventually will get fired. He would not risk that. Rather he would pick him. Then there are 2 possible outcomes:
a) Brazil win the world cup and Dunga is praised for picking Ronaldo who contributed greatly to the win (like 2 or 3 goals maybe).
b)Brazil don´t win the WC and Dunga points the blame to the publich who urged him to pick Ronaldo instead of another (fit) player.
You can´t even imagine how important the beatufil game is for brazilians. Anything less then a WC win is considered a failure of the coach and the team.
Basically it´s all up to Ronaldo now to get international matchfit in time for the WC. Then he WILL get called up no matter what, believe me.
Oh and he didn´t get called up while at Milan, because of the injuries he suffered.

Just becuase of Pele , Pele was lying when he said he wanted Ronaldo to play , in 1994 Pele was still considerd a best ever and not a egoistic old man that he is now in 2009 . If Pele said to coach Parreira in 1994 to put Ronaldo in game he would have put him in .
There are many jelous people in Brasil , especaly old football legends who know that if Ronaldo goes to WC 2010 and Brasil wins it ( in my opinion Brasil doesnt have strenght to win WC , even if Ronie goes , semifinal will do ) and Ronaldo scores atleast 3 goals he would be considerd as best Brasil player ever . That , in my opinion is point of all , Texeira who is CBFs president doesnt have good relationship with Ronaldo , you remeber Ronaldo said tha he is two-faced man, so it will be miracle if Ronaldo goes to WC in South Africa.
Dunga said that Ronaldo needs to get in form he was in 2002/03 . Only Luis Felipe Scolari said that that he would take Ronaldo with him if he was again coach becuase Ronaldo is Ronaldo .
I hope and I will hope until Dunga in April or May of 2010 says and reads names of that list , that R9 will be on that list as number 9 .

No I´m not a brazilian and do not live in Brazil, but I have once talked to one. He was a football maniac. He reported me that football is a common discussion theme every single day. May it be national or club. They are crazy about this game.
Let´s just hope that our big Ron can regain his form until the WC and then he´ll play, I´m sure of it. Dunga can´t allow himself to let a player like Ronaldo (second in the rankins only behind Pele in popularity in Brazil) leave out. Would you as a brazilian national coach not call up a 32 year old Pele? You sure would. And that´s the same with Ronaldo.

There is information about that that Dunga has asked questions to corintians managers for Ronaldo’s Health condition,but one day latter Dunga shows how much offended hi is about spreading of that news,cuz his interest was only human act of concern but nothing further.
If Dunga doesn’t return R9 back voluntarily somebody must kill him.Many people will collect and give him the money for that cause.

well ronaldo’s been my fav player for many years, and seeing him return for the corinthians and score some peach goals really lifts me, infact my friends have to deal with regular updates through facebook everytime he scores a goal! i was actually thinking the other day if england and brazil were in the final and ronaldo got the winning goal…..i wouldnt be upset, sure id be sad england didnt lift the cup.
but ronaldo’s my hero watching him through the years has actually improved my own personal shooting skills no end. the way he used to light up the pitch with style, speed and grace was gorgeous, he still got plenty to offer any team. ronaldo should get a place in 2010 simply because he’s ronaldo.

And on the weight debate: Ronaldo will NEVER return to his old weight again. I know it´s hard to believe,but it´s not possible for him in his age and with his attitude to regain that form again. Besides the injuries make every progress useless, because he can´t control himself and eats too much during that time of inactivity. We can be happy if he is in a well enough shape in time for the WC.

For ones who want to understand , I understand a little bit of portugese ( Im not going to explain how did I lear it or if Im tellling the truth ) . Meaning is , Mano Menezes was in a Brasilian Sports Tv Show month ago and he said that Ronaldos body will not change much, he maybe will loose 2-3 kgs more but that is it . He has almost 33 years of age.
MY OPINION :
If he stays injury free !!! , for his experience and still good enough to brake any defender and score as only he can , will go to WC. Dunga will have tough choice . I dont want anyone evil but if someone of todays players of Brasil attack do not get injured and saty in form , Ronaldo will have very little chance .

Normally the national-teams take 4 striker to a tournament.
There is a pool of six strikers: Robinho, Pato, Ronaldo, Adriano, Fabiano and Wagner Love.
I think, defenitly Dunga will call:
FABIANO – because of the ConfedCup and the fact he plays more like a europoean striker and not as a typical brasilien. I do not mean, that one way to play is basically better then the other: I just mean, that Fabiano therefore is different relating to the others 5 strikers.
PATO – because Brazil love their new “striker-kid”.
ROBINHO – because on the one hand he is a bit selfish but skillfull like a typical brazilien striker on the other hand, and so he would perfectly match to Fabiano, who plays more european-like in my eyes.
So there would be just one more place for a striker in the national-team and still Adriano, Ronaldo and Wagner Love in the pool…
Wagner-Love is the worst of them in my eyes.
And when Dunga would have the choice between a fit-Ronaldo and Adriano, I obviously think, he would take Ronaldo.
Even, when Ronaldo is on the field, every defence has got “fear”… he is a living legend, he could break his own goal-record.
And, when Dunga would take Adriano, the hole nation would “kill” him, if Brazil would have no success…
So I guess, Dunga would call Fabiano, Robinho, Pato and Ronaldo, if they would be fit.

Till Ronaldo gets fit enough for Selecao , Adriano and Wanger Love will be standard among 22 players ,so you be the man and say to them after they pass all qualification games that they will not go becuase Ronaldo will be called. It will be very hard choice for Dunga and who knows what Ronaldo thinks but as much as I ” love him ” it would be unfair towards others if Ronaldo gets call up and others to the hard work in qualifications.
Ronaldo needs to be lucky to avoid these stupid injuries becuase only them(injuries) will throw him back of a dream.
I think that if it wasnt for that hand injury he would be called up for next games , I think Brasil plays Argentina in this week or another.

at the moment i would say fabiano is a must, he has done well for his country, he works hard and closes down defenders all of the time and never allows them anytime, his goalscoring record is also very impressive. also, between now and the WC2010 it is likely that pato will improve and mature, i would also say he deserves a space. robinho is world class most of the time and can also play on the wing as he does for man city. kaka will obviously be in the team. this leaves nilmar, ronaldo, adriano and love. this will be a tough decision, i think it would be too risky to take adriano and ronaldo, i think dunga will only pick one of them unless they are both back to their best. Of course if ronaldo can shift some weight and can be in good form in early 2010 then that will change everything
. One thing to remember is that dunga said that ronaldo would be picked if he could get into 2002 form, this worries me as no player can turn back the clock 8 years let alone a player who has had a huge injury just last year and became startlingly fat last summer, but since his return he has done well, better than most of us could have expected but he is still finding it hard to shift the last few kilo’s. according to those words by dunga this means he will not be going to the world cup, however, he could have said that in order to try and make ronaldo determined to reach that level again and he will accept ronaldo as long as he is in good form. because surely he cannot expect ronaldo to reach 2002 form again. at least a good discussion is happening now

Even at milan, when he WAS rolling back some of the years, he didnt get called up.
However, this is the World Cup.
Brazil without big names is a boring team to watch.
Even back in 2003/4 if Ronaldo or Ronaldinho etc wasnt playing the match, I wouldnt bother watching.
You underestimate the brazilian population. If the population wants something they get it. If they ask for Ronaldo to be called up then he will. Also the brazilian president is a fan of Corinthians. He met Ronaldo several times. Ring any bells? If Dunga does not oblige and call him up when he is urged to and Brazil dont win the world cup, he will be blamed to death for not picking Ronaldo and eventually will get fired. He would not risk that. Rather he would pick him. Then there are 2 possible outcomes:
a) Brazil win the world cup and Dunga is praised for picking Ronaldo who contributed greatly to the win (like 2 or 3 goals maybe).
b)Brazil don´t win the WC and Dunga points the blame to the publich who urged him to pick Ronaldo instead of another (fit) player.
You can´t even imagine how important the beatufil game is for brazilians. Anything less then a WC win is considered a failure of the coach and the team.
Basically it´s all up to Ronaldo now to get international matchfit in time for the WC. Then he WILL get called up no matter what, believe me.
Oh and he didn´t get called up while at Milan, because of the injuries he suffered.

No I´m not a brazilian and do not live in Brazil, but I have once talked to one. He was a football maniac. He reported me that football is a common discussion theme every single day. May it be national or club. They are crazy about this game.
Let´s just hope that our big Ron can regain his form until the WC and then he´ll play, I´m sure of it. Dunga can´t allow himself to let a player like Ronaldo (second in the rankins only behind Pele in popularity in Brazil) leave out. Would you as a brazilian national coach not call up a 32 year old Pele? You sure would. And that´s the same with Ronaldo.

well ronaldo’s been my fav player for many years, and seeing him return for the corinthians and score some peach goals really lifts me, infact my friends have to deal with regular updates through facebook everytime he scores a goal! i was actually thinking the other day if england and brazil were in the final and ronaldo got the winning goal…..i wouldnt be upset, sure id be sad england didnt lift the cup.
but ronaldo’s my hero watching him through the years has actually improved my own personal shooting skills no end. the way he used to light up the pitch with style, speed and grace was gorgeous, he still got plenty to offer any team. ronaldo should get a place in 2010 simply because he’s ronaldo.
