Portugese newspaper confuses Ronaldo with Cristiano Ronaldo

The Real Ronaldo

This is hilarious. The Portugese newspaper “Metro,” published a story today saying that Cristiano Ronaldo will not play in the knockout stage of the World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia. However, they put a picture of the real Ronaldo instead of the wannabe Ronaldo. I bet Cristiano Ronaldo would love that!!

    It’s portuguese.

The israelian president Shimon Peres asked for Ronaldo to meet.He is in Brazil now and wants to meet Ronaldo. They will come together tomorrow afternoon.
I doubt any president of a foreign country, even of Portugal, would ever ask for Cristiano to meet!
    lol

Cristiano should finally understand! No matter what he’s doing, all the world knows(except some teenagers) There is onlu one Ronaldo. The boy wonder,The unstopable,The miracle man,The King LUIS NAZARIO DE LIMA RONALDO.
If i had enough money,i would make Dunga to get him in the team,NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES!

The same happend on 9.09.2009 in the biggest Sport-TV-Show in Germany…
They wanted to talk about Cristiano and Portugal but showed a picture of Ronaldo and the Brazil-logo.

The newspaper (have a look at the link) said “Pummelnaldo” because of Ronaldos overweight… like “roly-poly-naldo”…

    I saw it live :-)

richard and ben. do you really think it is a good idea for ronaldo to join a club who aren’t prepared to pay his wages. having the fans pay ronaldo’s wages is ridiculous. he is one of the richest footballers there is. do you really think he needs our money? hell no. if the only way you think he can get to a big club again is if his fans pay his wages then it that club probably wouldn’t be the best move for him would it. and by the way, thinking of his old clubs like inter as you mentioned is also silly, they have moved on, they have lots of strikers and young ones coming through.

  16. badboy on November 12th, 2009 11:37 am

Guys i don’t mean to collect money by fans to pay his wage in some club.Think about the hole situation. So many people want to see Ronaldo in the Selecao,Scolari said that he would give him a place in the team,no matter what his shape is,just cause this is Ronaldo. That means the only obstacle for Ronaldo’s coming back in the team is Dunga. Therefore hi has to be removed. No matter HOW!

  17. geonaldo on November 12th, 2009 5:05 pm

    only one Ronaldo!!!!! the fenomenon!!!!

  18. en99ar on November 13th, 2009 1:09 am

Well nice picture..but for cristiano..i thin he is a good guy…he visited n help my country when tsunami happened in 2004…
so i will not curse him..
but for me there is only one ronaldo.. o fenomeno..

  19. nameless on November 13th, 2009 8:38 am

en99ar, I guess nobody thinks Cristiano is the devil, but most of us don’t like him because he is very disrespectful to Ronaldo. It’s really almost disgusting he wants to adorn himself with borrowed plumes, because I’m sure, if there wouldn’t be the real Ronaldo with such a great career,it would be written Cristiano on Cristiano’s shirt today! It’s obvious he doesn’t respect him really, otehrwise he would have put a “C” on his shirt too! You can’t go to a club and take the number and name of a legend who also played for this club and exepct people to admire and respect you! I don’t respect Cristiano, because he doesn’t deserve to be respected!

The real reason C Ronaldo will never be half the player as Ronaldo is his attitude. He’s so cocky and disrespectful to so many players, not to mention he built up a huge reputation for diving early in his career. The guy just has personality issues. Great footballer, but will never be a fan favorite. Ronaldo on the other hand earned the love and admiration of everyone both with his skills and his smile.

The newspaper „Sueddeutsche“ is a really serious(!) newspaper in Germany.

And today they printed this little article:

    http://www.sueddeutsche.de/o5p38R/3145405/Der-falsche-Ronaldo.html

“Der Falsche Ronaldo” = The wrong Ronaldo.

„Portugal besitzt keinen richtigen Ronaldo – denn da gibt es nur einen, und das ist ein dicker Brasilianer -, sondern Portugal besitzt bloß: eine sensible und viel zu dünne Fälschung“.

„Portugal does NOT have a real Ronaldo – because there is only one, and he is a ‘plump Brazilian’ -, so Portugal just has a sensitive and much to bad fake”.

I do not how to translate “viel zu dünne fälschung”.

Because in the first sentence, they said that Ronaldo is a “plump Brazilian”, they said, Cristiano is a “much to slim fake”. It is a wordplay, because on the one hand they mean, that Cristiano is much to slim (body-slim) to be the real Ronaldo, but what they really want to say is: When a fake is made very bad, so that everyone can obviously see, that it is a fake, than we also say “slim” fake.

So the newspaper made a wordplay, when they say Cristiano is a “slim fake”: His body is to slim + he is obviously a fake.
