Ronaldo thinks of himself as a soldier when it comes to the Selecao

In an interview with “Estadão” on Friday, Ronaldo made no secret in saying that he favours Flamengo to win the title since the Corinthians are out of the title race.

“I have to do my work for my club to win games. As for my preference, it would be much better if Flamengo won the Championship, but on the pitch I honour my shirt and win the matches,” said Ronaldo.

Regarding the Brazilian team. Ronaldo has made it clear that he had no intention to return soon. He will continue to work hard heading into the new year.

“I live my live working on and thinking about the Corinthians. I think of myself as a soldier when I think of the Selecao, waiting to be called. I’m there. Especially since the Selecao has never had the custom of honoring players such as Cafu and Roberto Carlos. Selecao is our country, and for that I have to close the doors. If they need me, just call. I’m sure if I make a great first half (next year), I will get the chance to be called. I will do my best, work first for the Corinthians and if I have a chance, then great,” expressed Ronaldo.

“Selecao is our country, and for that I have to close the doors.”

Did he really say this? I don’t understand it. Or is something lost in translation?
Maybe he meant “…, and therefore the doors can’t be closed for me.”?
    lol

This is an appeal to brazilian people.
I’m from Europe and I really want to help Ronaldo to be in South Africa(like milions fans in Europe and everywhere) But you guys are those who really can make something about it.Maybe the pressure over Dunga is the key to that, cause I’m sure the problem its not just the shape of Ronaldo.Like evidence hi isn’t called since Dunga is coach(2006) and then Ronaldo wasn’t overweight or in bad shape. That means somebody is afraid of Roni in the national team and put obstacles in his path back to Selecao.Beside that since Dunga leads the team, the game of Brazil it’s not the same.Yep there are some good results, but where is the magic?I just couldn’t see it!Therefore if you want to help Ronaldo and the national team(and i’m sure you want)please make everything possible to help him.Maybe by public protests or something. We fully support you,and we hope to see Ronaldo in one magic brazilian team.
