to be honest though a hand injury should in no way prevent you from running, i can understand not playing with a hand injury but he should have been running still to get in better shape.

I pray that R9 has a successful 2010 and makes the World cup, I agree it would be foolish to expect 2002 form but he could potentially be better then he was in 2006, Imagine if he plays and they beat Portugal thanks to the real Ronaldo..

He didn’t regress,he was in better shape and then in July he had the hand injury and was out and he gained weight in these 2 months.But it’s always like this,he gains weight very fast,maybe it’s really because of his metabolism.And the fact Corinthians sold 2,3 of their best players didn’t help him really to score more.The whole team sucked since then.
Do you think Dunga will make Ronaldo a starter if he manages to get in the NT? I hope deeply he will be a starter but I don’t think Dunga has this in his mind.For Dunga Luis Fabiano seems to be a guarantee,and I don’t know if Dunga really wants to make Ronaldo a starter too if he is in shape.Ronaldo is injury prone and has 2 bad knees and it’s clear he can’t play like he did in 2002,even if he is in great shape.I don’t think his knees will allow him to do what he did at 2002,because sometimes it looks like he even walks differently because of his knees.I hope deeply I’m wrong,but until today Dunga didn’t give any sign of wanting Ronaldo in the NT or even wanting him to make a starter.

maybe ronaldo can reach something similar to his 2002 form. in the few games he played for milan in 07/08 he was rampant imo and played like he did in 2002. too bad it lasted so short before he got injured because on that shape he was still brazil’s best striker.

i think youre just rationalizing nameless, dunga obviously doesnt think like you and i have my doubts as well, as you said ronaldo if he manages to get in the squad will probably be a sub (just like adriano is right now), so when he enters he will have to run much more. right now he isnt running enough.

ronaldo should have built on his paulistao and copa brasil form and be even better later on. but instead of progressing he regressed

This would be great,S-Dub.I have no doubt about Ronaldo’s ability to score regularly and to impress but I have doubt if Dunga would be fair to him and make him a starter.Hopefully,he would!

And by the way,Dunga and Teixeira said they want Ronaldo in shape and scoring regularly,Dunga is not that stupid to think Ronaldo can play like in 2002 and carry the team.Dunga doesn’t want Ronaldo as a starter,(I wished he would) he wants him as a sub,so it’s more than enough if he scores regularly and is in good shape.Dunga doesn’t expect from Ronaldo to run THE WHOLE 90 MINUTES IN EVERY SINGLE WC-GAME,therefore he just will be the sub.He will play as a supporting striker,as a joker,not as a starter.I don’t think Dunga wants him to be a starter,doesn’t matter which shape he is.

Ronaldo’s goals won the Paulista and the Copa do Brasil and yes,his goals helped them to get at the 10th palce because he was injured and couldn’t helpt hem to get to a better place! Ronaldo’s team sucks,Adriano’s team doesn’t suck.They have a few great players,they don’t rely on Adriano,Adriano has much more help to score goals! Tha’s a fact and the fact Ronaldo was sideliend 2 months is the reason why Adriano looked better in the brazilian league,but only as a goalscorer,not as a striker in total!

Ronaldo really does more than the bare minimum.He stands in the area,yes, but he doesn’t always stand in the area.In the last games he did much more.I can remember Ronaldo often making pressure
but unfortunately he started often in the 2nd half with the pressure.

He doesn’t stand 99% of the time in the box,that’s not true. He doesn’t move much,although he changed it in the last games,but to say 99% of the time he stands around is nothing someone can take serious! And if it’s easy to have assists in the brazilian league then I ask myself why Adriano didn’t manage to have much assists? I can give you the answer,it’s because Adriano is only focused in scoring (which is positive) and he has great teammates who can pass the ball to him and to others too, he doesn’t have to take the responsibility like Ronaldo had to,because we all know Ronaldo’s teammates really can’t pass the ball or understand Ronaldo’s was of playing!
If Adriano would have played for Corinthians (without Ronaldo) he wouldn’t have been able to score 19 goals,not with the Corinthians team,that’s for sure! He is just a bit lucky because he has a much better team around him who helps him a lot in scoring goals!

its big enough difference for dunga. adriano’s goals won the league for flamengo and ronaldo’s goals helped timao to 10th place. and the injury excuse doesnt cut it. adriano also didnt play all the games too. he also could have hada better average if he played more. COULD. it is what it is and atm adriano beats ronaldo.

And if he had 38 goals in 46 games e.g. then he would have a gpg of 0,83.This says nothing if one of the players were sidelined for a long time. If Ronaldo would have played all the games and Adriano too,and Adriano has 0,63 and ronaldo 0,60 then I would say, yes,Adriano was better because he had a better goal per average. And by the way,063 compared to 0,6 is not that big difference,but if you compare what Ronaldo did for Corinthiand and what Adriano did for Flamengo, then it’s clear Ronaldo did much more for his club and helped them more and was more crucial for them than Adriano for Flamengo.

And you think Ronaldo didn’t do that? How many games have you seen?I have seen a few Flamengo games and I haven’t seen Adraino doing so much for the team.The only thing both players do not that much is running.And the assists are crucial,because with the assists which result in goals the can win a game.
