Ronaldo at Milan

In an interview with radio station ‘SkySports,’  the former Milan and Inter man Ronaldo made it clear that he is a Milan fan.

“I spent much time at Inter and they have always shown me great affection.  But I recently was at Milan, where I was treated with an incredible amount of respect and affection.  The club was welcoming to me.  I got to know the entire club very well and the Milan environment is a bit different to any other.  All in all, I think I am a Milan fan  but I would like to welcome both fans, who always treated me very well,” said Ronaldo.

Ronaldo also spoke about his former team-mates at the Selecao, Milan coach Leonardo and Milan player Ronaldinho.

“I wish all the luck to Leonardo, who is doing a great job in his first time as coach.  I’m very happy for Ronaldinho, who has recovered his joy of playing.  He is a great guy with an incredible talent,” said Ronaldo.

When asked about the possible return to the Selecao Ronaldo said that he will give it all his got.

“I’m making incredible sacrifices to go to South Africa having regards to my age and all the problems that I’ve had.  I’m giving my best and even more.  I they want me in the Selecao, then I’m ready,” said Ronaldo

good attitude from ronaldo, he is saying all of the right things, it seems he is just as hungry as his fans to go to south africa. and it goes to show, all you guys who slate milan for apparently treating him badly need to read what ronaldo said, if he likes them, then they must have been fair to him. as fans, we only know half the story.

strange how all the idiots said that he didnt care about the wc anymore, but here its clear that getting on the plane to south africa means a hell of a lot to him

  3. zox on January 24th, 2010 1:33 pm

milan treated him great as a player and person, the milan staff (milanlab) treated his injuries badly. i read this story on goal.com and there are comments about how ungrateful he is to inter and that he should cheer for them because they helped him through his injury problems; thats just bs, if anything milan made a bigger gesture when they saved him from madrid in 2007 and offered him another chance at the top level.

its even better to hear that he is working on going to south africa. he probably says that he cant push himself that hard because of his age and injuries but he will do everything he can to be there. i like that, forza ronie!

Site owner,he didn’t say he is a Milan fan. He said he has a great affection for Inter Milan even there is so much time gone, but in the derby he is for Milan (because of Leonardo). Ronaldo had aso gone to other clubs,it’s not like Milan was the only great club who wanted him.Ronaldo was in good shape under Capello when he went at Milan but Ronaldo has chosen Milan because of the brazilians. He said it himself in 2007. And zox, sorry, but the players and coach Ancelotti treatewd him well, the managment was disgusting after his injurie.Galliani and Berlusconi treated him very disrespectful after his injury and even didn’t thank him when he left the club! That’s one of the most disrespectful behaviours I’ve ever seen in football world. It showed Inter Milan’s managment treat injured players much better and especially with more respect than Milan’s managment!

Here he says again he has a great affection for Inter but he cheers for Milan and wishes Leonardo all the luck.
I think we should differiciate things. Ronaldo always had friends at Milan and because of them he cheers for Milan. That’s normal,he wouldn’t want Leonardo and his friends to lose because he doesn’t like what Galliani and Berlusconi did to him. He doesn’t cheer for the managment of Milan!!! It’s like when he left Real Madrid. He said in an interview in 2007 he wishes the team to win the La Liga, but not to the managment (Calderon).Nobody said the team or the coach treated Ronaldo bad after his injury! No!!!I think they were the only ones who treated him well. But it was the managment who was REALLY DISRESPECTFUL! But that’s nothing new. They even sold Kaka who didn’t want to leave and they didn’t defend Maldini in his last game for Milan.Maybe you remember,Maldini was insulted in his last game for Milan, some idiot fans really insulted him,but Galliani and Berlusconi didn’t say anything, they didn’t defend a legend like Maldini.Maldini said the next day he was very disappointed with the managment because nobody defended him and then Galliani, this really disgusting guy, wrote a letter to Maldini and said that they love him! Come on,that’s the way Berlusconi always apologised to his wife in the newspaper, when he cheated her again! No kidding!
That’s what I mean,it’s not the whole club AC Milan who was disrespectful,it was ONLY the managment who really treated Ronaldo bad after his injury. They even didn’t call him to say they won’t renew his contract (that’s what Ronaldo himself said) and they never made an official note on their homepage to thank him, which was a huge sign of disrespect! When Ronaldo talks about Milan,he always mentions Leonardo and his few friends there,he never mentions the managment or the MilanLab.There is a reason for that!

BUt if he talks about Inter Milan or Real Madrid,he often mentions Massimo Moratti and Flotentino Perez, because he likes them and they were good to him.Respectful!

  8. Gashahun on January 24th, 2010 2:50 pm

Nameless u’re right,Massimo Moratti treated R9 lyk his own son but truly speaking he Inter is always in R9′s heart! They gave him name(phenomenon)made him WC 2002 winner as Nerazzuri player!o phenomeno spent his best age(tym)in Sansiro!

  9. the real nameless on January 24th, 2010 4:53 pm

I think Ronaldo gave Milan bad luck in saying he cheers in the derby for Milan! lol, just kidding.
I’m not an Inter fan but I have to admit they really played great. If they would play like this in the CL I wouldn’t wonder if they reach the final. They played with 10 men and in the last minutes with 9 men,but they fought the whole game. They were incredible.I don’t follow the games of Inter but maybe I will do in the future!

the real nameless, as the article above states, in the interview, ronaldo said AC milan treated him with great respect and affection, yet you think he was badly treated, i don’t think ronaldo is lying.

  11. zox on January 24th, 2010 6:01 pm

yeah milan management (berlusconi and galliani) sucks but I’ll always be grateful for the fact that they took ronaldo and gave him a chance to redeem himself after the wc fiasco and capello’s treatment. i understand their decision not to keep him after the knee injury, come on, he already missed half the season due to muscle injuries and a career threatening knee injury was the final nail in the coffin. it worked out well for ronie now at corinthians but I dont think milan could have renewed a contract of a 32 year old player that you dont know will he ever play again.

  12. the real nameless on January 24th, 2010 6:57 pm

No sky,I read the original interview and he said he loves Inter as a club,he has great affection for Inter. At Milan he said, he found great friends, great rapports, but he wasn’t talking about the managment.Surely he has friends at Milan, especially Leonardo, and it’s totally normal he wants Leonardo to win.He said in the original interview he wishes Leonardo all the best that he is succesfull in his first year as a coach and he congratulated Dinho.I think Ronaldo has more friends at Milan (players, coach) but at Inter he has a much better rapport with the managment,Moratti especially. That’s what I meant.I don’t think he wishes the managment of AC Milan to win (like RM managment under Calderon),I don’t think he has any good rapport with the managment of AC Milan, but he wouldn’t say it.I think there relationship broke up after they treated him disrespectful after his injury. But with Moratti he still has a great relationship.
Yes,zox, surely they didn’t know if he can play again, and Ronaldo himself said back then he doesn’t want a contract until he is fit,but what I always criticised is what also Ronaldo himself criticised, means the way the managment treated him after his knee injury.Back then he said only Leonardo is talking to him,and Galliani even didn’t call him end of June to say he won’t renew his contract (Ronaldo said this). It’s THE WAY they did it which angers me and also angered Ronaldo, but not the fact they didn’t give him a contract. But they could have say things like,we will help him and stay with him (what they didn’t do even they knew the MilanLab caused most of his problems, physically and mentally) and see if he gets fit or not,and ONLY if he is fit,he will make a 6 months contract,or a year! I mean there are hundreds of possibilities to stay with an injured player who defended the club before you give him a contract and pay his wages.
And I don’t think there were no clubs who wanted Ronaldo in 2007,I’m sure there were some great clubs who wanted Ronaldo after RM,because back than Ronaldo was in good shape (under Capello he lost weight). And if you consider that clubs even wanted him after his injury in 2008 (but they said he has to reduce his salaries) than it’s obvious in 2007 even more clubs and greater ones wanted him.But Ronaldo has chosen Milan because of the brazilians. He said it himself,so it was due to Ronaldo,he could have gone to another club if he wanted to.He even could have stayed at RM,because Capello benched him and Beckham, but he didn’t sell them. They decided to go.
But I’m also happy Ronaldo didn’t go back to Milan because I didn’t want him to work with the MilanLab again! We all know why! lol

  13. zox on January 24th, 2010 7:05 pm

ok we discussed this before i don’t have any ill feelings towards milan and neither does ronaldo. there is a difference between treating someone badly and not doing anything at all, which is what milan did. im sure ronaldo would have liked galliani to call him at the time but he doesnt hold a grudge anymore so nevermind. between milan and inter ronaldo choses inter, after all right now inter hate him and milan don’t. and milan was really the only top club that wanted ronaldo then, we’re not counting the likes of psg, siena, tottenham etc.

    http://www.goal.com/it/news/2/serie-a/2010/01/23/1758363/ronaldo-ha-un-passato-rosso-nerazzurro-ma-ha-anche-una

sky, that’s the original interview,at least a part of it,and he doesn’t say Milan always treated him with respect,he says he found great relationships at Milan and knew the club very well and that Milan has another ambience than any other club.About Inter he said it’s been long time gone, but I still have a great affection for Inter.

  15. the real nameless on January 24th, 2010 7:21 pm

Surely Ronaldo doesn’t hate Galliani and Berlusconi, Ronaldo is not a crying baby who tries to piss all over guys who treated him disrespectful. He is better than that. And I like his attitude. But I was just refering to sky, because there is also a difference between saying “the cub treated me with respect” and “I found great relaltionships (friends) there”.
But I guess if Ronaldo gives an interview about two rival clubs he played for,the way the journalists tell us about it will always be a bit different than he maybe really told. It’s normal because some papers cheer for Milan, some for Inter,in Spain it’s the same with Real Madrid and “Marca” and Barcelona.
Anyway,I hope Ronaldo will play at wednesday.I didn’t see the match today but I read Roberto Carlos was decent. Hope he won’t be a flop, that’s nothing Ronaldo needs! They both have to do a lot, otherwise it’s already done for Corinthians and surely for Ronaldo!
