It is all the fault of the idiot Dunga. He killed the motivation in Ronaldo. Let’s hope that the new Coach is more appreciative of the skills of the phenomenon. It may be generations before Brazilian football can come up with a footballer in the same league as Ronaldo.

“I agree, the idiot Dunga will be cursed for centuries.”

Thanks for your comment, and that of others. I hope that people are allowed to express their views without been attacked by others. Some people decide to become evil and abusive whenever they sit in front of a computer. It is very sad!!

The issue of Ronaldo is important to football fans across the world. He is the top scorer in World Cup history, and that is an event that is watched by millions if not billions across the world.

It is so tragic the way Dunga treated Ronaldo. Look at the way Germany encouraged Klose, and even now there are some voices in Germany calling for him to be given the chance to play in 2014, if he is fit and needed. The same goes for the way the English adored, and supported Beckham. Only in Brazil, Dunga decided to make a mess of the issue of Ronaldo. Here you have a tested player, a legend, who was dying to play in the World Cup, and actually played beautifully in 2009 scoring so many amazing goals. In addition, he played with so much confidence, but all of this was ignored by Dunga!! Any player in the position of Ronaldo would have been demoralised, and finished!! That’s exactly what has happened.

Now in my humble opinion, the only reason Dunga didn’t want to pick up a great player like Ronaldo to the World Cup is that he didn’t want Ronaldo to get any credit for Brazil winning the World Cup a six time. Dunga wanted to win the World Cup without any star players!! He wanted the press and people say: Look how Dunga has won the World Cup in his own way, with a team that he compiled, and prepared!!! The rest is history!!

    Regards to everybody,

    Yours

  38. Ronaldo - "the unsung legend by a country mile" on September 5th, 2010 8:26 am

    Hi all

Glad to see the legend back. I can not believe how quickly the greatest player to ever play football is forgotton so quickly by the rest of the world. I hope god willing that Ronaldo stays injury free for the rest of his career and regains his stamina so he can go out with a bang. And hopefully one last call up to his brazil squad for his recognition as the worlds best.

By the way how do you obtain the ronaldo stamp?

Respect to all the Ronaldo fans. Keep it real and follow in Ronaldos footstep, he always kept and tries to keep the peace.

    Only one phenomenon

  39. Ronaldo - "the unsung legend by a country mile" on September 5th, 2010 8:34 am

    Comment to Chris.

I agree with you taotally. The fault completely lies with Dunga. I feel maybe he was possibly taking revenge for the 1998 world cup final as well as Dunga may blame him for the world cup final because ronaldo forced his way into the team and zagallo didnt want him to play because of the convulsion. Ronaldo played fantastic until th world cup. He deserved a place on the bench at least. Just look at how Beckam, Klose, Roger Miller, Blanco, Van Nistelroy, have been all treated by their country. Ronaldo: the youngest ever player to win the FIFA WPY, the only evr player to defend the FIFA WPY, the only ever player to win it three times. And the only player to have two career threating injuries in his prime, they said his career could be over, but yet he still came back to win the world cup single handed for his country and leading world cup scorer. He definitely deserved a recall and he does not get enough accolde from rest of the footballing world. I hope Ronaldo can stay fit and god willing defy all odds and make a return to the national squad.

    Theres only one phenomenon

  40. ronaldoR9 ( yeah okay) on September 5th, 2010 8:47 am

i love reading your posts chris because your one of the few on this site that actually talk sense and you actually know your stuff, you don’t just type the typical rubbish and rumours lol, so thanks :D

and you know, ive had enought gilberto. i was prepared to just let you post your comments and let you be.

but it appears you have now sunk to an unimaginable low. you are now using race and religion to demoralise and attack people on this site. im sorry gashu, but i dont see how we can let someone like gilberto just carry on , thinking that whatever he is doing is right.

sort yourself out you pathetic low life. people like you are better off dead so either kill yourself you racist pathetic idiot or do the world a favour and don’t have kids.

you might think im being harsh, but really, how dare you even try to pick out faults in other people and their sacred religions. look at yourself and end your miserable life, because your not worth anything.

sorry to other readers here but i have had enough of gilberto. i was willing to let him post whatever he posts and leave him be, but racism is the one thing i cannot stand. you might not realise gilberto, but people have fought and died to try and show the world that all races are equal. i would have thought you might have heard of world war II and perhaps you could have seen what your kinds of attitudes do to this world.

once again sorry gashu, and chris and all others, but racism is stepping way past the line and if we just sit back and let this fool continue being racist , well then there’s something wrong with us.

sorry to other readers and sorry to the real gilberto, if the one above is fake.

my point is, the fool above has just sunk to an intolerable low.

  41. ronaldoR9 ( yeah okay) on September 5th, 2010 8:52 am

well said “ronaldo the unsung legend” and i agree with you completely. ronaldo has tried so hard to do what he can to keep the peace and joy in this world, but im sorry, sometimes there is nothing left to do but to stand up for what we believe in, especially when a deluded idiot is trying to attack other races and religions.

ronaldo always fought for what he believed in, and its about time we do the same against gilberto. if he stops his racism, then i have no problem with his posts, even if i dont like them. but if his racist attitude continues, then its time to do the right thing.

  42. ronaldoR9 ( yeah okay) on September 5th, 2010 8:57 am

RONALDO NEWS: on his twitter he has said that for the next week match, he will be fit and in much better shape, as he has been working particularly hard on abs exercises. << got this news from ronaldo's official twitter.

  43. Let me intervene on September 5th, 2010 9:12 am

To ronaldo9 Racist ? What racist? gilberto never mentioned anything about race.religion doesn’t mean race for your information.there are black muslims, white muslims and muslims of many races, gilberto is just saying that some or most of these muslims are insane wicked people who should look at themselves before pointing the finger and be a more loving people.so i suggest you read and understand people comments properly thats if you can read properly and stop trying to make gilberto look like the criminal.

  44. ronaldoR9 on September 5th, 2010 10:39 am

all im saying is why did he have to even mention muslims and terrorists? thats such a big generalisation and he’s sayoing to go back to the middle east and sort out brothers and sisters with suicidal mentality? whats the point in even saying something that sterotypical? evry race has problems but highlighting them like gilberto isn’t right. im sorry if i appeared to harsh.

  45. ronaldoR9 ( yeah okay) on September 5th, 2010 11:38 am

after all solomon didnt say anything to insult gilberto or his origins. so why should he say something like that and think its okay?

but u are correct, and i know i came across a bit harsh so sorry to all the fans here.

Your thoughts about Dunga is perfectly accurate. I have suspected his intentions. He did’nt care about any legends or Brazil.

  48. yasin on September 5th, 2010 4:49 pm

he is forgotten because he now plays in brazil.this is the only reason.in europe the awareness of global football, and brasilian football also, is quite limited.half the people you talk to will not even know who ronaldo plays for.with all this fake names rubbish, do you remember “nameless”?later “the real nameless”, and so on.he has left now.a shame, because he used to keep the website going through all the shite some people here speak.thankfully RonaldoR9, Gashu, and a select few others actually bother to keep the site going through their comments and updates.

  49. cani on September 5th, 2010 6:45 pm

i do not care about you guys discus about him (even though i do not like someone to criticise him ’cause i’m his fan :D ),

  54. gilberto on September 6th, 2010 6:44 am

Yes, there might be doubts surrounding Ronaldo’s position in this list. Some might say that he shouldn’t be included and some might say he is not being rated correctly but the “phenomenon” Ronaldo does get a spot in this list and there is a reason why he only managed to make it to the 6th spot.

During his time on the field, Ronaldo was one of the most feared players and for a good reason and that was because of his “great” finishing abilities. In the late 90s and early 00s, it was Ronaldo who was simply showing the world why he managed to score the highest number of goals in the FIFA World Cup.

His time at the Italian club Inter Milan was “bumped” because of an injury that he suffered and he managed to secure a move to the Spanish team, Real Madrid who were then known as the “Galacticos.” Throughout his footballing career, Ronaldo bagged himself a Brazilian Cup, a Dutch Cup, the UEFA Cup and also the Spanish Cup. Not only did he manage to win the Cup Winners’ Cup, he also won two La Liga titles with Real Madrid.

However, all the gold was simply not enough for the Brazilian sensation. He continued playing fabulous football for his country and continued being a success in Brazil. He was in the squad that won the two World Cups, 1994 and 2002. It is still a noted fact that the reason why the Brazilians weren’t able to win the final match against France, in 1998 was only because of Ronaldo’s fitness, with which he was struggling a bit too much.

He has been named as the “European Player of the Year” for two times and he has also been awarded with FIFA World Player of the year for three times. This record can only be shared by his Real Madrid team mate Zinedine Zidane. Ronaldo has scored 15 goals in the FIFA World Cup and broke the record of the legendary Brazilian player Pele. He got his last World Cup goal in the 2006 tournament.

yeh i agree wit u yasin…many ppl go on nowadays about messi and his barcelona time..

what no one remembers is that someone went there and did it all before, at an earlier age, in better style, and with more flair and skills ( altho messi dribbles very well, and i am a big fan of him as he is close with ronaldo :D ) but wen have u ever seen him do sum good scossor steovers like ronaldo or a flip flap or a double cut or roulette? kno wt i mean lol?) but dw ppl, legends are never forgotten :D

  59. cani on September 6th, 2010 9:11 pm

“Brazil coach will not rule out Ronaldo comeback”

Brazil coach Mano Menezes believes Ronaldo is capable of playing at a high level again despite his recent struggles.

The coach told Terra website that 33-year-old Ronaldo “can overcome all expectations” and “has proven many times” that he can surpass challenges.

Ronaldo has suffered three serious knee injuries in his career but recovered every time. He made a successful comeback with Brazil’s Corinthians last year, but hasn’t been fit this season and has talked about possibly retiring soon.

Menezes says Ronaldo may have one last “card up his sleeve.”

The question that must be asked is this: Why couldn’t Dunga show the same kindness towards Ronaldo????
A three-time FIFA player of the year, Ronaldo helped Brazil win the 1994 and 2002 World Cups.

I was really excited Ronaldo put one in the net. Saw the first half and was satisfied with his game. I really hope he doesnt retire this year, hopefuly he extends it to 2011 in december.

  81. S-Dub on September 10th, 2010 3:13 pm

They’re still not sure if he will play tomorrow (Sat) night

Corinthians face Gremio this weekend with half a mind already on next week’s Brazilian championship top-of-the-table clash with Fluminense.
They are also looking to get overweight former Brazil striker Ronaldo match fit in time for the away match against “Flu” in Rio on Wednesday.
Past the halfway mark in the championship, Flu lead the table with 41 points from 20 matches. Corinthians are second with 38 points and a game in hand.
Ronaldo, whose star has waned outside Brazil to the point the distinction has to be made with Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, is coming back into the side at this critical point after almost three months battling injury and weight problems.
The former World Player of the Year scored with a penalty this week in Corinthians’ 1-1 draw with Atletico Paranaense, the same team against which he had netted his only other goal in the championship, also from the spot in May.
Coach Adilson Batista is unsure whether to play Ronaldo against Gremio to give him more time on the pitch or leave him to work calmly in training.
“We’ve got to go easily. It’s three months out, he had a game last week, came back and held up well,” said Batista, referring an Aug. 29 match against Vitoria.
“He’s still got to improve a lot. He wants to and that’s the most important thing,” Batista told reporters in the early hours of Thursday after the match in Curitiba.
    CENTENARY YEAR
Corinthians, seeking the title in their centenary year, want to make the most of Ronaldo’s knack of scoring decisive goals — he still holds the record of 15 at World Cups having helped Brazil lift their fifth title in 2002.
Fluminense, who first visit Atletico Goianiense at the weekend, will be looking to avenge a 1-0 defeat away to Corinthians earlier in the season on Wednesday.
However, Flu will not be hosting Corinthians at the Maracana where they have enjoyed the advantage of huge home crowds to spur them to the top of the table.
The giant stadium has been closed for refurbishment for the 2014 World Cup and Flu will play at the Enganhao, home of Rio rivals Botafogo.
“We’re in first place, fighting for the title, and it’s essential to support our players. To be champions our fans have to be by our side,” coach Muricy Ramalho told reporters.
“Against Corinthians, it’s down to the fans to take charge of the stadium. We mustn’t let (Corinthians) do that. It’s our home, the stadium is in Rio de Janeiro.”
